🚨OWA’s 2026/2027 memberships are open for registration!

The new season starts on April 1, 2026 and runs to March 31, 2027. Athletes looking to compete at the upcoming Ontario Masters Championships will need this membership.

Club registration is also open. All OWA members will need to be affiliated with a registered club.

⚠️ As part of our early registration initiative, the first 100 athletes to register for their membership will be automatically entered into a draw for a chance to win one of five $25 discount codes, which can be applied to future Ontario Weightlifting Association event registrations!

This past weekend, some of our National Team athletes came together at Variety Village for a focused OWA Training Camp — a space built not just for performance, but for connection and shared growth.

While competition often highlights the peak moments of sport, weekends like this remind us that excellence is built in the quieter work: consistency, discipline, and the collective environment that supports athletes to thrive.

🚨Attention athletes! Please see an update below from WCH on weight classes in effect at the 2026 Senior Canadian Championships. The full update can be found at the link in bio under “WCH Memos”.

The WCH high-performance committee has recommended that the 2026 Senior National Championships, utilize the current weight categories, which has been approved by WCH’s board. The original recommendation of using the new weight categories was before the changes to the international calendar. The Commonwealth Games is contesting the current categories and therefore our National Championships needs to reflect that, as a qualifier.

The 2026 Junior National Championship will still use the new weight categories, as originally proposed. There will also be an open section as at the Junior National Championships for the senior athletes in the new weight categories.
