NCCP Competition Introduction Course

Location - Can Am Strength And Conditioning, 155 Colonnade Rd S, Nepean, ON K2E 7K1

DESCRIPTION

The Competition Introduction Course is designed to give new Olympic Weightlifting Coaches better tools to develop their athletes to be ready for competition, and a start to become a provincial level weightlifting coach. THE VENUE
The 4,500 square foot high performance training facility is located off Colonnade Road in Ottawa’s West End. and is home to several elite athletes, including Olympic Bobsleigh Athletes, who are under the guidance of owner and strength coach Adam Blandford.

2023 Richard Borden Memorial

Location - LIFT Fitness & Performance, 919 York Rd, Guelph ON, N1E 6Y9

DESCRIPTION

The Richard Borden Memorial is an Olympic weightlifting competition being hosted by LIFT Barbell Club, and is being held to commemorate the memory of Dr. Richard Borden, who is well known by many Canadians as an ambassador for Olympic Weightlifting worldwide.  It is a sanctioned meet that can be used as a qualifier for other other elite competitions such as Winter lift and Ontario Winter Games. Male and Female competitors in in all age and weight divisions are eligible to compete.  Awards will be presented for the top three totals in each weight class and best Junior, Senior and Masters lifters.

THE VENUE

LIFT Fitness & Performance is a 7000sft performance training centre with full change rooms and a covered outdoor sitting area.  The building is shared with Futures Gymnastics and Dragon Warrior programs, a gymnastics and ninja warrior facility.  There is plenty of parking and you will enter through the main entrance on the right and proceed through the doors to the right where the competition area is located.  It is approximately 1km from several eateries, including Tim Hortons.  WiFi will be available to all participants and the event will be livestreamed.

NCCP Competition Introduction Practical  Evaluation

DESCRIPTION

The OWA is organizing a Practical Evaluation for the Competition Introduction Course at the competition Richard Borden Memorial at LIFT Fitness and Performance. This course is facilitated by Larry Robinson and will be the final step for their coaches to be fully certified as a Competition Introduction Coach. Please select course information for details regarding the evaluation.

2023 Ray Hamilton/Bob LeClair Classic

DESCRIPTION
The Ray Hamilton – Bob Leclair Classic is an event honoring two
of Northern Ontario’s pioneers of Olympic weightlifting.
This open meet is a chance for lifters, of all levels, to kick off
their competitive season. It also acts as qualifier for
Winterlift right up to the 2024 Canadian Seniors.


VENUE
The Norsemen and Valkyries Weightlifting Club , founded in
1996, will be be hosting this contest in the North Bay YMCA’s
newly refurbished main gymnasium. The warm-up area will be
situated in the club’s well- equipped training center.
