Burlington Barbell Club is excited to host their first competition in 2026 with the Generations Open. Bringing new and experienced lifters together of all ages, this competition aims to showcase the incredible diversity weightlifting has in our community, and the sports ability to impact so many groups of people in a positive way!

The facility features ample on-site parking, spacious training and competition areas, and change room facilities for participants. DESCRIPTION
 

The Mini / Young Hercules Competition is one of the only open Olympic weightlifting competitions in Ontario specifically designed to support the development of young athletes. This event provides a fun, competitive environment where developing lifters can gain valuable platform experience while competing against athletes in the same development bracket.

Athletes compete within their division against others in the same bracket, creating meaningful and age-appropriate competition.

Divisions include:

* Mini Hercules – Athletes 15 years old or younger (OWA Juvenile Division)

* Young Hercules – Athletes 17 years old or younger (OWA Youth Division)

* Hercules+ – Athletes 20 years old or younger (OWA Junior Division)

Athletes may only medal in one division.

This competition is designed to give younger lifters an opportunity to compete in a supportive environment, build confidence on the platform, and continue progressing through the OWA athlete development pathway.

As an annual event on the Ontario weightlifting calendar, Summerfest serves as an important qualifying competition for the World Championships, allowing athletes to achieve qualifying totals while competing alongside some of the province's top lifters. Whether you are chasing international standards, preparing for the upcoming competition season, or stepping onto the platform for the very first time, Summerfest offers an outstanding opportunity to test yourself and celebrate the sport of Olympic weightlifting.

All eligible lifters are welcome to participate, and we look forward to another fantastic weekend of competition, community, and great lifting.

Hosted by Toronto Weightlifting, Summerfest will take place in one of Canada's premier Olympic weightlifting environments. Established in 2004 and led by coach Hani Kanama, Toronto Weightlifting has developed athletes at every level of the sport, from beginners to national and international competitors. The facility provides a dedicated, athlete-focused training environment designed specifically for Olympic weightlifting. Conveniently located within the Greater Toronto Area and easily accessible by major highways and public transit, the venue is surrounded by numerous hotels, restaurants, and amenities, making it an ideal destination for athletes, coaches, and spectators travelling from across Ontario and beyond.

The Landmark x JustLift Summer Open serves as both an open meet for athletes looking to compete as well as a the last chance qualifier for Senior Provincials in September.

Landmark x JustLift has been hosting open level events for many years with their first elite level event being Junior Provincials in 2025.

LOCATION

Located in Ottawa's west end, the competition will be hosted by Landmark x JustLift, one of Ontario's premier Olympic weightlifting clubs. Based out of a spacious, high-performance training facility in Stittsville, Landmark x JustLift has developed athletes from the grassroots level through to national and international competition. With ample parking, excellent training amenities, and easy access from Highway 417, the venue provides an outstanding competition environment for athletes, coaches, and spectators
